Life coaching is the process of helping individuals or teams to find the path between where they are now and where they want to be.
It is about identifying, setting and achieving goals in many areas of personal and professional life, and acknowledging what might be preventing someone from reaching these goals. An essential component of life coaching is recognising the importance of living life according to your values, and prioritising who you really are, and not who you think you should be.
The reasons that people use a life coach can vary greatly – it can range from the need to adapt a very specific behaviour, skill or situation to a wider scope and vision of identity, purpose, fulfilment and selfhood.
As an effective life coach, I will not tell you what to do, or direct you according to my own agenda, beliefs or values. I will always help you to find your own path, by enabling you to utilise your own resources, qualities and strengths to achieve long-lasting change. I will always promise to work alongside you with determination, purpose, humour – and most importantly, kindness and compassion.
Life coaching isn’t therapy, as it is ultimately about change, action and empowerment. Having said that – as a qualified Psychotherapist, with training in several therapeutic approaches, I am able to draw upon this unique blend of knowledge and insight, to help you overcome any psychological obstacles that prevent you from achieving your goals.
Further information about the type of coaching that I offer can be found on my Life Coach Directory listing here.
